In 2008, Teijin began the commercial manufacturing of the world's first ultra-fine polyester fiber with a diameter of 700 nm, under the brand name Nanofront® and has marketed various products with its application such as sportswear, healthcare, and cosmetics. This Nanofront® filter media is manufactured by evenly dispersing its fiber with uniform diameter. This allows the media to have a sharper pore size distribution with finer and more uniform pore size compared with ordinary non-woven fabric. Additionally, fibers are affixed to each other through heat bonding, enabling it to be free of any adhesives.

Sample solvent: Galwick (surface tension 16 dynes/cm)
・ By employing the wet-laid process, 3 types of Nanofront® with different sizes (200 nm, 400 nm, 700 nm), each with uniform fiber diameter, are evenly dispersed in water (as in the form of papermaking).
・ This method realizes an extremely thin layer of filter medium with finer pore size and sharper pore size distribution compared with ordinary non-woven fabric (melt-blown method).
・ Fibers are affixed to each other through heat bonding, enabling it to be free of additional chemical such as adhesives.
